1) Where is the serial number?
It is located inside the upper left hand side of the console on MB16/21 models and on the left rear corner below the dump lever on the MB11. (Back to top)

2) Does the unit have brakes if the hydraulics fail?
Yes, the machine has contracting band type brakes. The brake pedal is located to the right of the operator’s platform. (Back to top)

3) What can the machine be used for besides concrete placement?
It can be used for carrying a variety of materials including concrete, sand, gravel, mulch, etc. However, hot asphalt will melt poly buckets. (Back to top)

4) If I remove the dual wheels, do I need to reduce the load capacity?
Yes, the load must be reduced by 50% to1250lbs for MB16 and to 1600lbs for MB21.
NOTE: Buggy will tip over easily with dual wheels removed. Operate only on smooth, compacted, level surfaces. (Back to top)

5) How steep of a grade will the machine go up?
The MB16/21 will handle a 15% (8 degree) grade. (Back to top)

6) Does load capacity mean total weight of the machine and material, or just what the machine can haul?
Load capacity is the weight of material in the bucket. (Back to top)

7) What’s the torque spec on the castle nut on the drive wheels?
The torque spec is 125 ft. lbs.+ as required to install cotter pin. (Back to top)

8) Do you put neversieze on the wheel motor shaft?
Yes, it is used to keep moisture and rust away and aid in removal of the hub. (Back to top)

9) How do I adjust "creep" on the machine

• Remove louvered hydraulic reservoir cover (four 3/8” hex bolts).
• Inspect shift bar and verify that it is tight on transmission pivot shaft and it stops against bolt when lever is released. If shift bar does not stop against bolt, increase tension on spring by tightening eyebolt.
• Start buggy engine. Idle engine.
• Shift directional control lever on dash to forward position.
• Loosen hex jam nut on bolt 4 turns. Turn bolt clockwise until buggy begins to creep in opposite direction from the direction of the directional control lever. Then slowly turn bolt counterclockwise until creep just stops. Tighten hex jam nut to secure bolt. Run buggy at full speed and release lever and verify buggy stops and does not creep. (Back to top)

10) How do I adjust the dump control valve?

• Remove hex cap covering pressure relief valve (beside valve spool).
• With an allen wrench, turn pressure adjusting screw three turns counterclockwise.
• Disconnect hose from elbow in Port “A” of valve
• Connect pressure gauge with hose to elbow. Note thread on elbow is 7/8-14, 37º JIC.
• Start engine, run engine at full speed.
• Push dump lever forward (dump bucket until dump cylinder fully extends) and check pressure.
• Turn relief adjustment screw clockwise to increase pressure, counterclockwise to decrease pressure.
• Replace hex cap, disconnect pressure gauge, reconnect hose. (Back to top)

11) How do I adjust the directional control valve?

• Remove hex cap covering pressure relief valve.
• With an allen wrench, turn pressure adjustment screw three turns counterclockwise.
• Remove hex cap.
• Attach pressure gauge to fitting.
• Block all wheels and engage parking brake. (Parking brake must be adjusted properly in order to perform this test.)
• Start engine, increase throttle to full speed, and shift to forward.
• Squeeze speed control lever until maximum pressure is registered on the gauge without stalling engine.
• Adjust relief pressure to 2000 PSI. Turn pressure adjusting screw clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to decrease pressure.
• Remove pressure gauge and replace hex caps. (Back to top)

12) What do you use to align the engine with the transmission coupler?
Align both halves of the coupling parallel with each other using a straight edge. Check the parallel alignment in at least 4 places (every 90 degrees), top and bottom and left and right sides. Additional checks around the periphery of the coupling assembly are recommended. Refer to the manual for instructions. (Back to top)

13) How do you know when the brakes are set correctly?
When full foot pressure is applied to the brake pedal so both brakes engage equally and pedal is level with top of the operator’s platform, the brakes are set correctly. If the brakes are not correctly set, refer to the manual and adjust brakes immediately. (Back to top)

14) Are the holes above the operator platform for tie down straps?
Yes, please refer to page 22 in the buggy manual for instructions on how to properly secure the buggy when transporting. (Back to top)

15) What kind of oil is recommend for the hydraulics?
Any brand of 10w40 multi-grade motor oil will work fine. (Back to top)

16) The dump valve won't return to the neutral position?
Check all hardware on dump lever. Make sure bolts are not too tight, and that it is well lubed. (WD-40 or equal) (Back to top)

17) What do I do if someone put gas in the hydraulic reservoir?
The hydraulic system needs to be drained and flushed of all contaminated oil. (Back to top)

18) What rpm should the engine be running?
8 hp Honda (GX 240) should be set at 3700 rpm.
13hp Honda (GX 390) should be set at 3700 rpm.
18hp Honda (GX 610) should be set at 3000 rpm. (Back to top)

19) Can I put asphalt in the poly bucket ?
No, asphalt will melt the poly bucket. However, a steel bucket is available for both the MB-11 and MB-16 models. (Back to top)
